August 27, 2024: From a HK man in prison for drug trafficking.   

I live in Tuen Mun and Kaohsiung this year. I have lived in Leung King Chi, Tuen Mun for 4 years. I have 4 brothers and sisters in my family. My parents have to serve 4 children. Then when I got to Form One, I started to learn how to drive a car and not go home after school. I also learned how to drink and smoke. When I entered Form Two, I often I was trying to escape, and I was told that I would be sent back to school . However, as soon as I entered school, I was very disobedient. After that, when I was promoted to Form Three, I always skipped classes . Because I couldn't get promoted to Form Four, I went to  class of the Vocational Training Council. After that, I went out to work in the countryside. I was only 19 years old at that time. I spent the rest of my life working around. You can do a job for a long time, but you are too lazy. It wasn’t until I was 19 years old that I changed my surname because I was cheating. I started taking drugs in 2015.

I was convicted of drug possession and was later sentenced to a probation order. However, during my probation period, I continued to take drugs. Then I went to court again and entered a Drug Rehabilitation Center. I was discharged at 6 months and had to stay on the welfare officer for 1 year. However, I started taking drugs again, so I entered a drug rehabilitation center for more than 4 months. In 2018, I joined a housebreaking crime and was sentenced to 3 years. Actually, only my mother came to visit me. I was very surprised why my father didn’t come to visit me until I was released from prison in April 2020. As soon as I was released from prison, I was thinking about where to go to play, but my sister told me to go home immediately. Dad, when I got home, I saw that my father was very thin, so I realized that my father had cancer. It turned out that while I was in prison, my family didn’t want me to worry, so they didn’t tell me about my father’s cancer. When I came out, I saw my father and found out that he had liver cancer and had reached the second stage. I asked my father if he wanted to take targeted drugs to control his condition. My family was not rich and could not do anything. My elder sister ran away from home at the age of 18. My younger brother got married and moved to another country.  

But I had just been released from prison and had no money, so I asked people around me to borrow money, then asked friends, then asked financial companies. In the end, my father passed away in October 2020. After that I went to work in a bar I earned about $10,000 a month as a waiter, but from December 2020 to January 2021, I could not go to work due to the epidemic because the company could not open for business. At that time, some friends knew that I had a job. Back then, my mother had a delivery job better than mine. I didn’t have any money at the time so I took a delivery job, of course, knowing that it was against the law. In the end, I got out of hand with the customs. For a few thousand dollars, I may now be in jail for more than ten years. I thought a lot when I was remanded for more than a year. I thought that I would not be here when my father was laid to rest. I felt very sad and heartbroken. When I think about the fact that my mother is the only one left to collect the rent 

My life is roughly like this. I hope someone can see my experience. I know clearly that sometimes just to money I have made many mistakes.
