MONTEGO BAY, St James - KINGSLEY Gogo, a Jamaican man with dual Nigerian nationality was offered bail in the sum of $1 million when he appeared in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrates Court recently on drug charges.

Gogo was arrested in September along with his girlfriend and15-year-old son when police went to his Westgate Hills home where they allegedly found residue of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

Sekera Harvey, his girlfriend, and his son were offered bail when they were first brought to court.

Gogo was charged after a St Elizabeth man, Daniel Reid was arrested while allegedly trying to smuggle 2.25 lbs of cocaine through the Sangster International airport. His statement to the police led them to Gogo.

Allegations are that the police, acting on information from Reid, went to a house in Westgate Hills on September 16. The court heard that when the police knocked on the door, they saw Gogo look out. He was then seen emptying packages into a toilet.

When they were eventually allowed in the house, the police say they found two grams of cocaine on the toilet seat and floor around the commode, as well as five plastic parcels with cocaine residue from under a face basin. The police say they also found residue on Gogo's hands.

The police are also alleging that they found 47 packages of ganja weighing over 2 lbs as well as a gram scale and other drug implements.

Copies of Reid's passport and travel itinerary were also found in the house, the court heard. Gogo will return to court on March 16th next year. Reid was arrested at the Sangster International Airport as he was about to board a flight to Amsterdam. He was asked to do a urine test which showed traces of cocaine in his system.
He was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where, over the period of five days, he passed out 90 parcels of cocaine weighing 2.25 lbs.
